Triumph Motorcycle Cartoons

Triumph’s been building motorcycles since 1902 in Coventry. Over a century of British bike building. They’ve had various owners and gone through bankruptcy, but the name keeps coming back because it means something.

Currently built in Hinckley. Proper British bikes, modern engineering, traditional character.

The Bonneville

The Bonneville name started in 1959, named after Bonneville Salt Flats where Triumph set speed records. Became the iconic British parallel twin. Steve McQueen rode one. That’s all you need to know really – if McQueen thought it was cool, it was cool.

The original Bonnie ran until the early 1980s, then came back in 2001 when Triumph revived it. Modern Bonnevilles blend retro styling with current engineering. They look right, they sound right, they are right.

Speed Triple

The Speed Triple brought streetfighter attitude to Triumph’s range in 1994. Naked bike, aggressive, properly quick. No fairings, just engine and attitude.

Became Triumph’s hooligan bike. Not sensible, not practical, just fast and fun. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

Tiger

The Tiger adventure bikes proved Triumph could do dual-sport. Started in the 1990s, kept developing. Current Tigers compete with BMW’s GS and other adventure bikes successfully.

Proper adventure capability – on-road manners, off-road ability, long-range comfort. Everything an adventure bike should be.

Trident

The Trident triple-cylinder bike ran from 1968-1975 originally. Three cylinders, distinctive sound, quick for its era. Racing success proved the concept.

Triumph revived the name for a modern roadster. Different bike, same spirit – accessible performance, British character, that triple engine.

Daytona

The Daytona sports bike showed Triumph could build proper sports bikes. Racing heritage – won at Daytona, hence the name. Multiple versions over the years, each quick and capable.

Not built currently, but the Daytona name means something to anyone who knows bikes.

What I Can Do

Know what you want? Tell me. Working it out? That’s fine. Your registration, you on the bike, that tour you did, whatever tells your story.

Triumph’s distinctive styling – the Bonneville’s classic lines, the Speed Triple’s naked aggression, the Tiger’s adventure stance – all recognizable.

Why Triumph Matters

They’re the biggest British bike manufacturer left standing. That heritage matters. Building bikes in Hinckley with British engineering while most manufacturers went elsewhere.

The modern range proves you can blend retro styling with current performance. Bonneville looks classic, rides modern. That’s harder than it sounds.

British Character

There’s something distinctly British about Triumphs. That parallel twin sound, the styling cues, the character. Not trying to be Japanese precision or Italian exotica. Just proper British bikes.

That identity appeals. You’re buying into heritage and character, not just transport.

The Community

Triumph Owners Club, various model-specific clubs, active online communities. Support’s there, parts are available, advice is accessible.

Triumph ownership connects you to that community. Shared appreciation for what makes these bikes special.

Modern Success

Current Triumphs are genuinely good bikes. Not just trading on heritage – actually competitive with anything else in their categories.

The Bonneville range especially has been successful. Right bike at the right time, meeting demand for retro-styled modern bikes.
