Case Study: A Surprise Birthday Present
The Challenge
I met Jan Scarrott at the Marcos Owners Club stand at the Classic Car Show at the NEC Birmingham. She was curious about getting a surprise birthday gift for her husband Mark, who was also at the same stand, but out of earshot. She showed me some photos of their cat Harvey, and I started thinking about how I could work him into the cartoon as well.

The Creative Solution
After corresponding by email, I had gathered some more information about Mark, their car, and also Harvey the cat. Jan sent me some photos to work from.
The cartoon shows Mark driving one of their cars up a hill climb, with Harvey in the passenger seat with paws over eyes. The backdrop of the cartoon is Shelsey Walsh hill climb, a venue they have visited many times before.
The Process
Discovery: Face-to-face chat at car show

Design: Created the cartoon featuring the couple’s Marcos car with the backdrop of the Shelsey Walsh venue.
Delivery: Supplied high-resolution digital artwork ready for printing and framing
